Quick answer: When is the MTLE 2027?
PRC has not yet released its 2027 exam calendar. It’s expected around November 2026. The Medical Technologists Licensure Examination (MTLE) is held twice a year. In 2026 it was on March 5–6 and August 15–16. If 2027 follows the same pattern, expect the first exam in early March 2027, with LERIS filing opening around early December 2026.

Who Can Take the MTLE?
- A Filipino citizen, or a foreign citizen from a country with reciprocity for Filipino medical technologists
- Of good moral character
- A graduate of BS Medical Technology / Medical Laboratory Science from a government-recognized school, including the required clinical internship
Requirements and Fee
- PSA birth certificate
- PSA marriage certificate (for married female applicants using their married name)
- Transcript of Records with photo, Special Order (if applicable) and the remark “For Board Examination Purposes”
- Any additional document your PRC office or LERIS checklist asks for (for example, proof of completed internship)
- The examination fee as assessed in LERIS (PRC’s standard fee for degree-level exams is ₱900)

How the MTLE is graded
- You need a general average of at least 75%, with no subject below 50%. Check the Board of Medical Technology’s current Table of Specifications for your cycle.
- Didn’t reach 75%? According to PRC, examinees who fail the MTLE but get a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technicians.

The March cycle is the bigger one, with fresh graduates and nearly twice as many examinees, and it had the higher passing rate in 2026. The August 2026 exam was topped by Marti Angela Janagap Policarpio of the University of San Agustin (92.90%), and De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute led schools at 98.59% (140 of 142).
Testing Centers
The August 2026 MTLE was held in NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga. You choose your testing center when you file in LERIS.
