The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has released the school assignment instructions and reminders for the November 22, 2026 reset Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT). This is the exam that was suspended on August 9 because of heavy monsoon (Habagat) rains. You don’t need to re-register or pay again. Here’s what to do in the next two weeks.
How to Check Your School Assignment (ONSA)
- Go to the official CSC website, csc.gov.ph, and look for ONSA, the Online Notice of School Assignment. CSC says it will be available on or before November 9, 2026.
- Enter the required details exactly in the format shown.
- Note your school. Printing the notice is optional and isn’t required for admission.
- While you’re on ONSA, open the link to the Examinee’s Guide in Taking CSE-PPT (October 2026) and read it fully.
Still don’t know your school one week before the exam? That’s November 15. Contact your CSC Regional or Field Office directly. CSC Regional Offices may also announce assignments through their own channels, but only trust official CSC sources.
CSC’s earlier advisory says the same schools assigned for August 9 will generally be used, unless your Regional Office says otherwise. Check ONSA anyway instead of assuming yours hasn’t changed.
Exam-Day Timeline
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Not later than 6:30 AM | Be at your testing venue (or the time set by your CSC office) |
| 7:45 AM sharp | Gates close. Latecomers won’t be admitted. |
| Before the test | Preliminaries, about an hour. Deposit your bag and take note of your Examinee Number. |
| 8:00 – 11:10 AM | Test proper, Professional (3 hours 10 minutes) |
| 8:00 – 10:40 AM | Test proper, Subprofessional (2 hours 40 minutes) |
| After the test | Post-exam documentation, about an hour |
Visit your school before exam day. CSC specifically advises an ocular inspection at least one day ahead and warns not to rely only on GPS or navigation apps on exam morning.
What to Bring
- Original ID, preferably the same one you used when you applied. Photocopies and phone photos of IDs aren’t accepted. No ID, no exam.
- Original PSA or Local Civil Registry birth certificate, if your ID doesn’t show your birth date (PSA E-Certificates count)
- Black ballpen(s), and no other kind: no pencils, gel pens, sign pens, fountain pens or friction pens, and no other ink colors
- Application Receipt and/or CSC Official Receipt. It’s not required for admission, but you’ll write your Examinee Number on it.
- Personal alcohol or hand sanitizer (100 ml or less)
- Optional: water in a clear container, biscuits or candies. These will be inspected, and bottles stay on the floor.
Accepted IDs
Driver’s license or student permit, passport, PRC license, SSS, GSIS/UMID, Voter’s ID or Voter’s Certification, TIN ID with picture, PhilHealth ID, company or office ID, school ID, police clearance with picture, postal ID, barangay ID, NBI clearance, seaman’s book, HDMF ID, PWD ID, Solo Parent ID, Senior Citizen ID, CSC Eligibility Card, or PhilID/ePhilID. A Digital National ID or Digital TIN ID may be accepted, subject to verification.
Expired ID? As a last resort, an ID that expired between January 1 and November 21, 2026 may be presented.
What to wear
Preferably a plain white shirt or top. You won’t be allowed in wearing a sleeveless shirt or blouse, shorts, tokong pants, ripped jeans or slippers. Long hair must be tied. A transparent bag is encouraged, and face masks are optional.
What’s Prohibited
These can get your exam cancelled, and may be a violation of the Anti-Cheating Law (RA 9416):
- Any calculator, including watch calculators
- Phones, smartwatches or any gadget at your seat or in your pockets, even if turned off. Keep them inside your bag at the front of the room.
- Books, dictionaries or printed materials
- Scratch paper of any kind, including your receipt, your skin or your clothes. Use only the spaces on the pages of the Test Booklet, not the Answer Sheet margins or back.
- Taking photos or selfies in the room, or posting test questions online
- Copying, crib sheets, or taking the test booklet or answer sheet out of the room
Firearms and sharp or harmful objects aren’t allowed in the venue. No bags under your seat. Deposit them at the front of the room or in the designated area.
Don’t lose your rating over your Examinee Number. Use only your assigned number from the attendance sheet. Double-shaded, mismatched, incomplete or wrong numbers will invalidate your exam. Also write it on your receipt and keep the receipt, because you’ll need the number to check your rating online.
If the Weather Turns Bad
If a Red or Orange Rainfall Warning is raised in any of the affected testing centers, the reset exam in all three regions will be cancelled and moved to January 24, 2027. CSC will announce this at least one day before. Check the CSC website and official Facebook page on November 21.
If you miss the November 22 exam without a cancellation, you give up the reset, and your fee won’t be refunded or transferred.
